PU organizes int’l conference on eating disorder


LAHORE: (Thursday, June 1, 2023): Punjab University Institute of Applied Psychology (IAP) in collaboration with Pakistan Institute of Living & Learning (PILL) and Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) organized the inaugural ceremony of two-day international conference on ‘Eating Disorders’. On this occasion, IAP Director Prof Dr Rafia Rafique, Professor of Psychiatry, University of Liverpool Prof Dr Nusrat Hussain, Chairperson Department of Applied Psychology, LCWU Prof Dr Amina Muazzam, Professor of Pharmacy Practice in Pakistan Dr Madeeha Malik, national / internationally renowned professionals, faculty members from local universities / institutions, researchers and a large number of students were present. The speakers explored the intricate relationship between eating disorders and overall well-being in the field of mental health. They said that in 2019, a large number of people suffered from diseases due to unbalanced diet. Dr Rafia said that lack of proper diet leads to other diseases including psychological problems. She said that care should be taken to reduce and overfeed of the children. She said that the institute would continue to play its role for healthy society. She expressed her gratitude to all presenters and participants for their valuable contributions to the conference, hoping that this gathering will foster progress and make a positive impact. The conference would continue today.
