LAHORE: (Saturday, November 29, 2025): The annual sports gala organized by the Punjab University Academic Staff Association concluded here on Saturday. PU VC Prof Dr Muhammad Ali, President ASA Dr Amjad Abbas Magsi, Secretary Dr Muhammad Islam, Chief Organizer Dr Amir Masood Chishti, Director Sports Dr Muhammad Shabbir Sarwar, faculty members and their families participated in large numbers in the closing ceremony. In his address, PU VC Prof Dr Muhammad Ali said that the Academic Staff Association had organized an excellent event for the faculty, for which he extended his congratulations. He said that such events should continue to be held regularly. He added that the PU will continue to play its role in promoting sports. Dr Amjad Magsi said that sports are essential for mental and physical health. He thanked the VC and the organizing team for their support in successfully conducting the sports gala. During the two-day sports gala, teachers took part in badminton, table tennis, tug-of-war, carom, chess, ludo, cricket, race and various other competitions. Free food stalls were also set up for faculty members and their families. Later, certificates of appreciation and shields were distributed among the participants.
